    On Monday September 8th, Norfolk Lodge installed its new officers for the 2014-2015 Masonic Year.  This year saw Wor. Michael Centola of Needham assume the East of Norfolk Lodge, replacing Wor. A. Theodore McIntosh who did a wonderful job leading Norfolk Lodge over the past year.  


    This year also saw three new additions to the line of officers.  Recently raised brothers Pablo Coste and Ari Marcus took their first steps towards becoming Master of the Lodge when they were installed as Stewards of the Lodge.  Wor. Ethan Gilson, who is an affiliated past master, also joined the Officer line as Senior Warden.  


    It was a fun night, full of promise for the upcoming year.  The new Worshipful Master along with his suite of officers look forward to working with the Brothers of the Lodge and the community in order to continue to fulfill the tenets of Masonry and have a fun, productive, and enjoyable year.

    Norfolk Lodge hosted its 3rd annual Family Picnic at the Claxton Field.  This event has quickly become a staple of Lodge activity in the summer.  The Lodge hosted its annual cookout for the members of the Lodge, their families, and the Town of Needham.  This year was the largest year ever with more then forty people attending the cookout.  


    It was a summer beautiful day this year, as Masons and their families enjoyed good food and food and fellowship.  The cookout gives members the opportunity to meet and have fun during the summer months when they normally would not have Lodge activities; everyone had a great time and the Officers of the Lodge hope that this is something that we will be able to do every year.

    On Monday June 9, 2014 Norfolk Lodge A.F. & A.M., presented a donation to the Charles River YMCA in the amount of $800.00. Through the recommendation of the donation's committee, the Lodge voted to contribute to the Y's annual fund in recognition of the important contributions it makes to our community. The Lodge invited the Executive Director of the Charles River YMCA, Ted Cormier, to its regular monthly meeting for dinner and then afterwards the donation was formally presented to him. Ted spoke about how the Y uses its philanthropic dollars to aid individuals and families that cannot afford Y programs and services. This year, the Y has also dedicated significant resources to adaptive programming and programs for teens. Norfolk Lodge hopes that this contribution will assist the YMCA in achieving its mission of strengthening our community through programs and services aimed at Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.

    On Monday June 9, 2014 Norfolk Lodge A.F. & A.M., presented a donation to the Needham Community Council in the amount of $1000.00. Through the recommendation of the donation's committee, the Lodge voted to make a contribution to the Community Council in recognition of the important contributions it makes to our community.

    The Lodge invited the Executive Director of the Needham Community Council, Sandra Robinson, to its regular monthly meeting for dinner and then afterwards the donation was formally presented to her. Sandra spoke about the longstanding relationship between Norfolk Lodge and the Community Council and thanked the lodge for its continued support throughout the years including the yearly tradition of donating Christmas trees to the Community Council. Norfolk Lodge hopes that this contribution will assist the Council in achieving its mission of supporting the people in Needham who have under-met health, educational or social needs. The Lodge looks forward to continuing to assist the Needham Community Council achieve its important mission and contributions to our community.

    On March 1st, 2014 Norfolk Lodge hosts the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in Massachusetts as well as the members of the Grand Lodge  for the Annual Senior Grand Wardenreception.  This year R.W. Thomas A. Stark was elected by the members of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts to serve as the Senior Grand Warden.  It was a great night of fellowship, as the Lodge celebrated R.W. Stark's election; around 150 Masons from across the Commonwealth came to celebration.


    R.W. Thomas Stark has served the Grand Lodge in many different capacities over the years, most recently as the Grand Marshall for M.W. Richard J. Stewart.  Norfolk Lodge is very proud to of R.W. Stark's accomplishments and wish him the best of luck in his tenure as Senior Grand Warden.

    In concert with the Needham Community Council motto “People Helping People”, representatives from Norfolk Lodge A.F&A.M met with Sandra Robinson, the Executive Director of the Needham Community Council, at their location at 570 Hillside Avenue in Needham and presented her with a donation in the amount of $1000.00. Through the recommendation of the donation's committee, the Lodge voted to continuue its yearly tradition of contributing to the Community Council in recognition of the important contributions it makes to our community. Norfolk Lodge hopes that this contribution will assist the Council in achieving its mission of supporting the people in Needham who have under-met health, educational or social needs.

    On Wednesday August 7, representatives from Norfolk Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M., visited the Charles River YMCA pool site on Great Plain Avenue and presented a donation in the amount of $1,000 to Kathleen Ward, Director of Operations of the Charles River YMCA.

    Through the recommendation of the donation’s committee, the Lodge voted to continue its yearly contribution to the Y’s annual Reach Out Campaign in recognition of the important contributions it makes to our community.

    Norfolk Lodge hopes that this contribution will assist the Y in achieving its mission of improving the health of mind, body and spirit of individuals and families in our communities. The Lodge looks forward to continuing to assist the Y achieve its important mission and contributions to our community.

    On December 15, 2012, Norfolk Lodge A.F & A.M continued its long standing tradition of donating 20 Christmas Trees to the Needham Community Council along with $300.00 to use towards the Needham food pantry for those in need during this Holiday Season. From Thanksgiving through New Year’s the Council offers a series of Holiday support programs in partnership with many community businesses, organizations and individuals. Norfolk Lodge’s donation to the Food Pantry at this time of the year helps the Council to offer a wide variety of Holiday food items to Food Pantry customers so that all Needham families can provide a festive dinner to their families during this holiday season. In addition, the Christmas Trees donated to the Council are then offered to Food Pantry families to be sure that all who wish to provide a celebration of the Holiday are able to do so.

    Sandra Robinson, the Executive Director of the Needham Community Council was presented with the donation by Wor. Donald H. LaLiberte, Master, Norfolk Lodge A.F&A.M.


    Sandra thanked the lodge for its long standing support of the Community Council through this and the various other donations given throughout the year. Donald in turn pressed the Lodge’s commitment to the Community Council and residents of Needham.
